New York City bassist ALEX CLAFFY is one of the most in-demand bassists of his generation. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Claffy carries forth his hometown’s storied jazz lineage, following in the footsteps of bass luminaries Christian McBride, Percy Heath and Jimmy Garrison with a sideman resumé which includes legends George Coleman, Harold Mabern, Randy Brecker, Jimmy Cobb, George Cables, Wallace Roney, Mike LeDonne, Fred Hersch, Victor Lewis, and Louis Hayes — as well as the top stars of today such as Nicholas Payton, Christian Adjtunde Adjuah, Kevin Hays, Aaron Parks, Seamus Blake and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

A musician of versatility, Alex has worked with pop trumpet icon Chris Botti, the genre-bending songstress Veronica Swift, and breakout Hamilton star vocalist Leslie Odom Jr.
