Born and raised in Northern California’s Bay Area, ELÉ SALIF HOWELL began drumming at age two. He studied with pianist Art Khu and in the Oaktown Jazz Workshops in Oakland. He apprenticed with drum master Lenny White and tours regularly with NEA Jazz Master saxophonist Gary Bartz and Ravi Coltrane. Elé has performed and recorded with Chief Adjuah(FKA Christian Scott), Brandee Younger, Weedie Braimah, Stanley Clarke, Alain Pérez, among others. His father, Richard Howell, has been a major influence and collaborator throughout his career. Elé continues to write his own music, perform regularly around the world, and teach.
VINÍCIUS GOMES is a Brazilian jazz guitarist, composer, and first-call sideman. His sound weds Brazilian classical, jazz, and American jazz traditions to the advanced chromatics of Baden Powell, Pat Metheny, and Julian Lage. Gomes is known internationally as one of Brazil's finest accompanists for vocalists; he was worked extensively with Zizi Possi, Rosa Passos, and Jane Duboc as both an accompanist and music director.
Bass player, composer, and educator NOAH GARABEDIAN holds a BA in Ethnomusicology from the The University of California Los Angeles, and a Master's of Music Performance from New York University. He currently works with the music outreach program at Jazz At Lincoln Center, Jazz For Young People. He is also currently part-time faculty at The New School in New York City and works at the Stanford Jazz Workshop. In the past he has served as adjunct faculty at NYU, and taught with The Weill Institute at Carnegie Hall. Noah has performed and toured with Ravi Coltrane, Jeff Tain Watts, Andy Milne, Kris Davis, Ralph Alessi, Myron Walden, Nir Felder, Frank LoCrasto, Okkervil River, and Julian Pollack.
