ALWYN
is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, vocalist, drummer, and producer whose music holds a
bold blend of Americana, seamlessly fusing together svintage soul, Jazz, Pop, World Music, R&B, Rock, and Blues. He currently tours with the Colorado Hall of Fame inductees Leftover Salmon and has performed/toured alongside a wildly eclectic collection of esteemed artists including Cautious Clay, L’Rain, Billy Strings, Jackson Browne, Bridget Kearney, Taj Mahal, The Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, Ron Miles, and many more.

His most recent project, Marshall, exemplifies this interrogation across fourteen tracks, including a reimagining of the Americana staple, Gentle on My Mind, originally performed by Glen Campbell and written by John Hartford. On Marshall, the standard western two beat is replaced by the drums of the South American samba.  The typical ache and yearn of a lone voice is augmented and buoyed by a chorus of voices — moving the song out of the standard isolationist imagery of the lone American pioneer opening his singular experience and instead placing him in the broader American experience which is communal and shared.
