Brazilian drummer, EDU RIBEIRO, is a founding member of Trio Corrente and Vento em Madeira, which has more than 10 albums released and countless presentations on four continents, and has worked alongside some of the most important names in Brazilian and international music, such as João Bosco, Yamandú Costa, Ivan Lins, Hamilton de Holanda, Mônica Salmaso, Leny Andrade, Leila Pinheiro, Stacey Kent, Maria Schneider, Brad Mehldau, Randy Brecker, Paquito D'Rivera, Sadao Watanabe, and Mike Stern, among many others.
Ribeiro works constantly in education, being pedagogical coordinator at the São Paulo State School of Music - EMESP/Tom Jobim and professor of both undergraduate and graduate courses at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, as well as managing and teaching at his own e-learning website, Edu Ribeiro Music Workshop. He also teaches classes and workshops in several schools in Brazil and around the world, such as the Juilliard School of Music in NYC, the École de Musique Didier Lockwood in Paris, and the Brasília Music School, among others.
Edu has 5 Grammy Awards as composer, producer, and instrumentalist and his 2019 album, “Folia de T'reis - Edu Ribeiro invites Toninho Ferragutti and Fábio Peron”, was also nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Music Album.
Having released over 15 albums both as leader and collaborator in various formations, he has embarked on his latest, the Edu Ribeiro Trio, which began in January 2022 and is receiving critical acclaim.
