Angelika Niescier (sax)
Christopher Tordini (bass)
Gerald Cleaver (drums)
The passionate and creative saxophonist, Angelika Niescier, is firmly anchored in the European music scene and beyond. She’s the recipient of many accolades — including the German Jazz Award — and is one of those exceptional women who has been redefining the contours of the European jazz scene - a jazz artist on a mission with a rich pallet of colour and virtuoso technique. She has worked with greats such as Joachim Kühn, Ernie Watts, Tyshawn Sorey, Steve Swallow and Gerry Hemingway.
The musicians explore every aspect of sound: sometimes chamber-music like delicate and transparent, other times eruptive, wild and dense, but in every instant, thrilling. Gerald Cleaver has won the Downbeat Rising Star poll and plays with Chris Potter and Bill Frisell. Christopher Tordini has toured with Becca Stevens, Jim Black and Chris Speed.
