Bar LunÁtico is thrilled to host New Orleans pianist, Tom McDermott, accompanied by
Brooklyn's multi-instrumental wizard, Dennis Lichtman.

Tom is one of New Orleans’ most eclectic piano players and composers, stretching from the mid-19th-century music of Louis Moreau Gottschalk to the funky New Orleans piano today. .  He co-founded the modern brass band the New Orleans Nightcrawlers. He was also featured as an arranger on the Dirty Dozen Brass Band album “Jelly.”   His music has been heard frequently on NPR, i.e. “All Things Considered”, “American Routes”, and “The Moth.”

Dennis Lichtman is a multi-instrumentalist (mainly clarinet, fiddle, and mandolin) who is deeply entrenched in early- to mid-1900’s American music, from traditional jazz and swing to bluegrass and western swing.  Dennis is the clarinetist and bandleader of the famed Tuesday night traditional-jazz jam session at Mona's in downtown New York, which was profiled in the New York Times, and has been described by the Wall Street Journal as "ground zero for an emerging late-night scene of young swing and traditional jazz players.”
