Bar LunÁtico welcomes James Maddock and Freddie Stevenson for a night of trading soulful, well-crafted original songs!

A recent Brooklyn convert, James Maddock is a welcome addition to our tight Bar LunÁtico roster.  Since 1999, James’ boldly vulnerable songwriting, honeyed rasp, and distinct folk and Americana aesthetic have garnered acclaim from icons, peers, and tastemaking outlets like NPR, American Songwriter, & Relix Magazine.  He's performed with Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows), sang on an album with Susan McKeown, and has built a respected international profile through tireless touring from the Northeast US to Europe to Australia.

Hailing from Scotland, Freddie Stevenson, bides time on both shores.  At the start of his career, he collaborated with John Perry of The Only Ones in the middle of 2004. Culminating in a set of four well received acoustic demos, Perry introduced Stevenson to a group of Stockholm-based musicians comprising Brady Blade (Dave Matthews & Friends, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Bob Dylan) on drums, Surjo Benigh (Ulf Lundell) on bass, and Jan Petersson (Eric Bibb, Odetta) on keyboards. The subsequent recording, Body on the Line was made, mixing the original acoustic roots of Stevenson's music with multi-instrument sensibilities.
